The Global Centre for Modern Ageing (GCMA) ‘LifeLab’ has come to life!

Earlier this month, 30 Influencers aged 60+ had an opportunity to receive training in co-design methods. The training, facilitated by The Australian Centre for Social Innovation, provided Influencers with foundational information on co-design and innovative thinking, preparing them for getting involved in LifeLab projects.

In the early stages of the LifeLab, it’s all about learning, feedback, adapting and evolving to ensure the best outcomes for participants and projects. To assist this process, the GCMA are running a number of pilot projects in July and August. These projects are instrumental in testing the new facilities and functions of the LifeLab in preparation for its official launch later in the year.

The first pilot project, Healthy food for healthy ageing, ran in mid-July with 12 Influencers who had attended the introduction to co-design training. The next pilot projects are scheduled to take place in late August/September 2018.

About the Global Centre for Modern Ageing

Located at South Australia’s Tonsley Innovation District, the Global Centre for Modern Ageing was established in March 2018 and operates LifeLab – a leading, real-time test facility which allows businesses to invent and trial products and services in a simulated ‘real-life’ environment.

Through advocacy, market development, partnerships, research and learning, the Centre helps organisations and individuals to devise, build and commercialise products and services that allow older people to live and age well.
