Have you experienced short-term restorative care, supported a family member or friend, or are a health professional working in this space?

We are excited to invite your participation in a new project with national reach!

In partnership with Flinders University, The Plug-in’s latest project will provide insights to help to inform the development of national restorative care guidelines for the new Support at Home program.

To ensure the new guidelines encompass the experiences and needs of both community who will access support, and the allied health professionals that will help deliver Support at Home services, we need you to share experiences with us.

What’s involved?

To hear your insights and experiences, a series of workshops will be held late November to explore the needs and experiences of:

  • Older people who have experiences in care at home, restorative care and/or a hospital admission in the past 2 years
  • Carers and support persons of people who have accessed restorative care
  • Allied health professionals and assessors using the IAT

Am I eligible?

Community workshops:

  1. Are 65+ and have experiences with restorative care or hospital admission in the past 2 years; or
Have supported someone to access restorative care services
  2. Live in Adelaide
  3. Able to attend a 90 minute in-person workshop in late November

Health professionals’ workshops:

  1. Are an allied health professional currently working in the sector; or
An Assessor currently using the Integrated Assessment Tool (IAT)
  2. Located in Australia
  3. Able to join an online workshop in late November / early December

If you have experience and this topic is of interest to you, we’d love to have your involvement.

The Plug-in is supported by Flinders University to undertake this research. The findings from this research will help to understand the preferences of older people when it comes to receiving urgent care, and how health care services can be adapted.

Participation in this project is voluntary. Personal information is not used or shared without express consent — you can read our privacy policy on the COTA SA website.

Through your contribution you are raising the voices of older people and supporting the important work of COTA SA!
