Throughout June/July and November 2025, The Plug-in partnered with the University of Adelaide to support an important statewide project. Older South Australians recruited in this project will help shape the provision of palliative care in the future and help families get the support they need to live well for as long as possible.

Individuals involved met the eligibility criteria of being:

  • Aged 18+ who have a life-limiting illness and approaching the final 12–18 months of life
  • From a rural area, low-income household, or a culturally and linguistically diverse background

OR

  • An unpaid carer supporting someone with a life-limiting illness who is approaching their final 12-18 months of life

Selected older South Australians will:

  • Take part in a series of 60-90 minute interviews with The University of Adelaide Research team, either in-person or online
  • An honorarium will be provided to thank for their participation

Recruited individuals can stop at any time and choose what happens to their information.

Participation is voluntary and confidential. All shared information will be de-identified and used only for research, in accordance with Australian Privacy Principles.

Thank you. Your voice can shape future care models, strengthen services, and ensure better support for others at the end of life.

As much as we would like to have everyone involved, space for participants was limited. Recruitment for this project has closed on 28 November 2025.

The Plug-in was contracted by The University of Adelaide to assist in recruitment for the Palliative Care Research Collaboration Project.
