The Plug-in invites you to take part in our newest project – an opportunity to share what ageing well in your local community means to you and help shape City of Charles Sturt’s future direction.
Community-wide Survey: Open now, closing on Friday 4 September
A survey is now available to gather community perspectives on ageing locally within the City of Charles Sturt.
The survey will help us explore what we heard in community workshops that were held in June and July. You can help us understand the different experiences of the broader community. The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Am I eligible?
You need to
- Be aged 60 and above, 50 and above for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and
- Live in the City of Charles Sturt council area, OR regularly access services and supports in the area

Community workshops
Across June and July, Community workshops were held to explore experiences of ageing, what works well, and what some of the challenges are. We heard from a wide range of community living or using local council services, some who have lived in Charles Sturt for many years, have moved to the area more recently, across diverse backgrounds, age groups and life experiences.
Culturally specific workshops were held in late July. Participants shared what would help support ageing and feeling included in local neighbourhoods. We were able to understand different experiences and needs from community who may not usually be able to participate in engagement opportunities.
Thank you to all who participated or expressed interest in workshops.
This project is being delivered in partnership by The Plug-in, COTA SA and the City of Charles Sturt. The project is supported by a 2025-2026 Age Friendly SA grant through the Department of Human Services, Office for Ageing Well.
