The Plug-in invites you to take part in our newest project – an opportunity to share what ageing well in your local community means to you and help shape City of Charles Sturt’s future direction.
If you are 60+ and live in the City of Charles Sturt council area, we’d love to hear from you!
Community workshops
COTA SA’s The Plug-in has partnered with City of Charles Sturt’s Ageing Well team to understand what supports the wellbeing of older people living or connected to the City of Charles Sturt. Your voice matters.
Workshops will be in person and located within the City of Charles Sturt council area in late June and early July 2026.
We are seeking participation from across diverse backgrounds, cultures and age groups. The aim of the workshops is to hear what ageing well looks like for you — from staying connected and accessing information, to feeling safe, included and supported in your community. What you share with us will help the City of Charles Sturt better understand older community needs and expectations.

Am I eligible?
Workshop participants will
- Be aged 60 and above, 50 and above for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and
- Live in the City of Charles Sturt council area, OR regularly accessing services and supports in the area
- Able to attend an in-person 90-minute workshop in late June/early July
Why should I get involved?
The insights gathered from the workshops will help us understand the needs and desires of older people and will inform how the City of Charles Sturt supports older people to live well in community, now and into the future.
What if I haven’t been involved in a workshop before?
You don’t need any previous experience to participate in our workshops! Our friendly workshop facilitators will provide simple tools and activities to explore your ideas.
Other project activities
A community-wide survey will be distributed in August to gather community perspectives following the workshops. By registering interest in this project, you will be notified when the survey becomes available for community input. It will be promoted widely in August and through the Your Say platform.
We strongly encourage you to register if you don’t usually participate in these kinds of projects. In the registration survey, there will be opportunity for you to indicate if you need additional support to attend, for example, if English is not your first language, or if you’d feel more comfortable having a support person or carer attend with you.
If you are interested in participating in a workshop, you can complete a short survey to register interest by following the button/link above or please get in touch with us at connect@theplugin.com.au or call on 08 8232 0422.
Participation in this project is voluntary. Personal information is not used or shared without express consent — you can read our privacy policy on the COTA SA website.
Through your contribution you are raising the voices of older people.
