Throughout October/November 2025, The Plug-in partnered with the Vascular Surgery Research Group at The University of Adelaide to support representation to their Consumer Advisory Panel. We recruited older people with lived experience to share their insights of diabetes related lower limb amputation.
What was involved?
The Consumer Advisory Panel focused on individuals:
- With lived experience of diabetes and lower limb amputation
- Preferably living in rural/regional South Australia (however, metropolitan participants are also welcome)
- With interest in sharing their experiences to improve research and patient outcomes
The selected consumers:
- Will be involved in quarterly Consumer Advisory Panel meetings
- Will be reimbursed honorarium to thank for their time and participation
- Can stop at any time, and choose what happens to their information
Participation was voluntary and confidential. You can read our privacy policy on the COTA SA website.
Thank you — your voice can shape future care models, strengthen services, and ensure better support for others with diabetes related lower limb complications.
The Plug-in would like to thank all the individuals who registered their interest for this project. We have completed the recruitment for this project, and the project has formally closed.
