The Department of Health has been undertaking work over the past year in the development of aged care or health standards alongside consumers, service providers, academics and experts.
The new draft Aged Care Quality Standards are focused on outcomes for consumers rather than around the processes of aged care service providers and are a single set of standards which replace the four (4) standards that currently exist, and are expected to be implemented around 1 July 2018.
A pilot is currently being undertaken to test the draft Aged Care Quality Standards, and the guidance material that support the draft standards.
We’d love to hear from you!
The Plug-in has been engaged by the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency (AACQA) to seek feedback from consumers on the guidance material.
If you are a consumer of aged care services, or a family member / carer of individuals accessing aged care services, we’d love to hear from you.
Focus groups + interviews in May 2018:
- Consumers of aged care services:
- Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)
- Home Care Packages
- Family members + Carers
- Residents (+ family members) of Residential Aged Care Facilities
